Our Worms

Please do not expect our worms to always look like Canadians Nightcrawlers.
European worms will not normally grow as big as the Canadian Nightcrawlers, but can get up to 4.5 grams, with the proper feed and care.

Whichever name you choose to use for this worm it all boils down to the scientific name, Eisenia hortensis. This worm is the greatest bait worm on the market today. It is a very hardy, active worm and has been known to survive and attract fish in all types of environments, including ice water and sea water.


ADVANTAGES:

Like Red Wigglers they are great composting worms. They will not eat quite as quickly but they process the compost material just the same. Some research has shown that they will produce a better by-product then the red wiggler.

NO NEED TO KEEP COOL
Kept at room temperatures (40 degrees to 90 degrees Fahrenheit), Jumbo Reds will live from three to five weeks in a bait cup without refrigeration. They are much more heat tolerant than the common northern/Canadian nightcrawler, and are also more cold tolerant than many other types of earthworms.

WILL STAY ACTIVE ON A HOOK LONGER THEN OTHER WORMS
Jumbo Reds will still be active on the hook long after other baits have died. - These worms are tough. - Jumbo Reds will stay active on the hook even after thirty minutes in freezing or salty water. Will out fish common northern/Canadian nightcrawlers, Jumbo Reds are wonderful fishing worms.
